Wolfgang notched 100K in MC win over Red Land

Hitting a milestone in grand fashion!

Mifflin County pitcher Madison Wolfgang fanned her 100th batter while keeping Red Land at bay Thursday, allowing two hits and finishing 11 strikeouts.

The MIfflin County softball team has now launched themselves to the .500 mark with its road win over the Patriots 5-2.

In the process, Wolfgang allowed only two hits on the night.

Alexis O’Brien led the team offensive, picking up two hits and two RBIs.

Mifflin County got the game scoring started in the fourth, plating four.

Arika Henry got things up and moving with a single.

She was moved up to second thanks to a sacrifice bunt by teammate Peyton McClure.

Dakota Hershberger singled, putting runners on first and second.

Riley Hine moved up both Hershberger and Henry on another sacrifice bunt, putting runners on f second and third. Hine reached base on the play.

O’Brien put the Lady Huskies on the board posting a 2-RBI single.

Jesse Brumbaugh singled in Hine and moved O’Brien into scoring position, before the Patriots knew what hit them, the Huskies led 3-0.

O’Brien later scored, giving MIfflin County a comfortable 4-0 advantage.

That would be all Wolfgang and company would need as the notched the win.
