Yoder: HWF New Building, Same Problems

By Joshua Yoder
LEWISTOWN – The wrestlers of the HWF got to welcome their fans to their brand new arena over the Heritage Fire Co for their A$$ Kicking Saturday night show this past weekend.
Unfortunately, the good moments did not last long as Promoter Trista Silks, who was addressing the crowd at the start of the show only to be interrupted by the “50.1” percent owner of the company Jason Havok came out and accused Trista to lying to the fans and claimed that the Main Event was not going to be a hardcore match.
That brought out the Sons of Mifflin County who had to fight every fiber of their being to not hit Havok.
But there was plenty of hitting going on in the Main Event as the SOMC who were looking for some payback against Dante Dio and Flip Rib aka The Wayward after they attempted to take them out the previous show. Things escalated real quick as blood began to spill, windows being cracked. Even worse, Havok was trying everything in his power to help the Wayward get the HWF Tag Team Titles.
Luckily for Matt Silks and RD Mosh, they were able to get some assistance of their own as the President of Wrestling Phil Stamper came out and chased Havok around the ring with a kendo stick.
With Stamper in their corner, the Sons of Mifflin County took advantage and dropped Dio into a combination of thumb tacks and D&D dice which brought a whole new meaning of hitting a crit and managed to retain the HWF Tag Team Titles. However, this only means that there will be more to come from Havok in the future.
The show was led off by “The Titan” James Ford, who went one on one with Matt Wylde. After trying his best to chop down the big oak tree known as Ford, Wylde got to feel the power that many other wrestlers had felt before and fell victim to the Titanfall.
Ace Connel continues on his road to redemption after making his return to the ring during the previous show only to be knocked out by Big Philly. And the stage was set for those two to collide. Philly obviously had the power edge and used every bit of it throughout the match. But through faith and determination, Ace was able to get the big man off his feet and scored the victory.
Sledge Gibson and Edward James went to battle with one another during the event, at least that was what it was supposed to be. The match went about three minutes before the trio of Ayden Blaze, Joseph Jordan and Draven Blaze jumped into the ring and assaulted both of them.
The reason behind this attack according to Draven was he blamed the lovely Emberly Rae for getting chokeslammed by the Cremator at the October show. But thanks to Mr. Stamper, it quickly became a tag team match where the dynamic duo of Gibson and James with a little help from Rae were able to come out victorious.
Speaking of fan favorites, Red Dawg made an appearance at the show and competed in singles action against the leader of Riot City, Sicend. The match itself got the fans on their feet only for it to be ruined by Isaiah Frazier who stormed in and laid waste to both of them.
That wasn’t the only time that Frazier was up to no good as later that night, Frazier managed to roll up opponent Arawn Conners and pulled on the tights with the referee unaware of the situation.
Women’s wrestling made its return to the HWF during the show as Pit Chick Dani Lahr welcomed in Keeley Capri in singles competition. Sadly for the Pit Chick, things did not go according to plan as Capri managed to pick up the win. During a post match interview, Capri explained why she wasn’t surprised about her victory over Pit Chick because she is a better wrestler and is certainly much more prettier. Will we see more of this rivalry? We will keep you all updated.
One of the most talked about matches of the evening was for the HWF Heavyweight Championship as Robbie Paige challenged the champion Jon Rodin. Back and forth they went with both guys giving it their all.
At one point, it appeared as though Paige was going to become the HWF Heavyweight champion. That was until a desperate Rodin dropped Paige to the mat with a low blow right in front of the official who immediately called for the bell, giving the win to Paige by disqualification. However, due to the DQ, Rodin remained champion. But Rodin was not done yet, he quickly jumped on Paige.
Thankfully, before any more harm was done, the Titan James Ford emerged from behind the curtain and chased Rodin away. Afterwards an extremely angry Ford got on the mike and demanded a shot at the HWF Heavyweight championship due to the fact that he was never pinned to begin with. Mr. Stamper then came out and wanted to make it even more interesting, Stamper chose to make a triple threat match between Rodin, Ford and Paige at the next show.
What an incredible first night at the new venue! There are so many questions that have yet to be answered. Like, what will Havok have in store? What are the Sons of Mifflin County going to do about Havok? And who will be the HWF Heavyweight Champion?
Until Next Time!
