LEWISTOWN – HWF made its return to the Lewistown Community Center aka the HWF Colosseum for their Under The Spell show this past Saturday night.
And there was plenty of excitement going on and it wasn’t just the wrestling, but the fans of the HWF were given a special treat where local rock band Mindspell got to perform. Mindspell opened up the show and got the crowd rocking, unfortunately the good times did not last as the newly crowned HWF Heavyweight John Rodin interrupted them saying that he could not take the horrible music anymore and was thankful for being able to listen to his favorite band Nickelback to quote “keep him sane”.
Rodin bragged about being the only real undefeated wrestler left in the HWF despite the fact that he did not pin James Ford during the triple threat which featured both men as well as Zack Rayne who Rodin pinned to become the new champion. Rodin believed that he was successful because he no longer had the White Rabbit to hold him back anymore.
This led to the former champion Ford to come out and confront the champion. Ford was looking to make his intentions known that he was looking to get a one on one match with Rodin and take back the title. However, Ford had other problems to deal with as he was forced to have a singles match with his nephew Jesse Lawhead.
These two have been dealing with personal issues for some time now and Ford was always trying to be the bigger man but Lawhead continued to push the Titan to his limits. Finally the match began where Ford looked to overpower Lawhead quickly, but Lawhead kept pushing and pushing until Ford had enough and dropped one of the biggest Titanfall powerbombs the HWF has ever seen to pick up the win.
Speaking of getting under people’s skin, Sledge Gibson, a long time fan favorite, had found himself in a very uncomfortable situation. He was in a six match tag match with two guys he did not like in the form of John Washington and Isaiah Frazier as the trio went up against Riot City’s Sicend and Matt Wilde and were joined by the Irish Renegade Sean Raymond.
Despite his best efforts of not wanting to help his team, Gibson, Washington and Frazier managed to sneak out a victory.
Fan favorite and also newly crowned champion Red Dawg who was making his first defense as HWF Xtreme Champion against newcomer Ace Christian. Christian was looking to get the fans behind him but soon became jealous of the reaction of the champion and quickly went onto the attack. But ultimately it would be Red Dawg who scored the win and retained the title.
The Sons of Mifflin County were also looking to give gold around their waist as they welcomed the challengers of Flip Ribs and Dante Dio collective known as the Wayward. It didn’t take long for things to get controversial as The Wayward sneaked their way through the back door and assaulted the champions before the match began. Matt TRK Silks got injured and was quickly taken to the back leaving RD Mosh all alone to defend the titles. But despite the doctor’s orders, Silks made his return back to the ring and he and Mosh begin to put the pressure on Dio and Ribs. The pressure became too much for them and the Wayward forced the referee to call for the bell and disqualify them.
But as mentioned before, things were getting controversial after the match as Jason Havok the alleged 50.1 percent owner of the company came out and was planning on stripping the HWF tag champs of their titles. That was until the President of Wrestling Phil Stamper came to the ring to make the save. Stamper explained to Havok that according to the contracts, only he (Stamper) could be allowed to strip wrestlers of the title leaving Havok furious.
This though led to an announcement, which is at the next HWF show, the SOMC and the Wayward will be in a Mifflin County street fight. A No DQ Match? Does that help Havok with his mind games with the Silks? Stay tuned for more information in the coming weeks.
Speaking of the Sons Of Mifflin County, fellow member Edward James along with the lovely Emberly Rae competed against Ed House. Both men gave it their all and it literally could have gone either way, but in the end House managed to drop the big elbow from the top rope and handed James’ first loss since the 2023 Summerfest show. Frustration showed as after the match James refused to shake hands with House and walked straight to the back.
There was a major return to the HWF as Ace Connel made his return to the company and came out to address the fans. However, not everybody was happy to see him back as Big Philly came out and warned Connel that he should have never come back before dropping Connel with a shot to the jaw and leaving him laying. We will keep you updated on this story as well.
But then in the main event John Rodin looked to remain HWF Heavyweight champion as he went one on one with Arawn Conners. At first, it appeared as though Conners scored the win, but Rodin quickly reminded the ref that he did not ring the bell to start the match and threatened him if he did not restart the match.
With the match restarted, Rodin quickly overpowered Conners and despite his best efforts to comeback, Rodin retained the title and still is the “only real undefeated wrestler in the HWF”. After the match though, it looked as though Rodin was turning a new leaf as he helped Conners back to his feet and raised his hand, only to drop him back down to the mat with a vicious clothesline.
Hope you all had fun at the show! Who knows what the HWF has got in store in the future.
Until Next Time!
