Young Huskies faced tough State swim team

STATE COLLEGE -To be the best you have to play the best.

Tuesday night, the Mifflin County swim team did just that as it went head-to-Head with defending District 6 Champion State College teams.

With a bunch of Young and fresh faces on the year’s Huskies’ roster and the team used their match up against the Little Lions as a measuring stick to where they are at this time in the season.

Despite falling to both, the boys lost 149-22 while the girls lost a 131-44 contest.

Despite the loss, Mifflin County coach Gretchen Seyler was happy about the individual efforts that her team provided Tuesday.

“I have four senior girls that I’m going to be saying goodbye to at the end of this year. But I also have a lot of young girls too and thats promising because that means we will have a pretty strong girls team. The boys side we have a lot of new faces. We have done that have never swam before,” Mifflin County coach Gretchen Seyler said. “I thought that was a great performance by everyone. I told them tonight that the goal for tonight was no DQs and we did just that. They all swam well and did their best. I told them State College is tough, especially in a duel meet and your going to be pushed and some will see some very strong finishes.”
