Coffey Paces MC XC boys with ninth place finish in D6 Championships

The Mifflin County Boys’ Cross Country wrapped up its season on Saturday morning in Reedsville at the AAA  District Six Championship. Competing in a seven team field, the Huskies finished fourth behind winner State College, Altoona and Williamsport.
Leading the way for MC with a top ten finish was Junior Conrad Coffey in 9th ((17:25).  Chris Royer 11th (17:31), Caden Bell 19th (18:06), Cody Fultz 25th (18:36), Ben Hartzler 26th (18:47), Luke Breneman 33rd, (19:15) and Maxwell Laudermilch 34th (19:17).
“Districts is always exciting to watch. Beside the winning team qualifying for states the first five individuals also advance. Our boys ran hard but unfortunately fell a little short. With all the rain Friday and into Saturday the course was becoming a swamp,” said Mifflin County cross country coach Greg Loht. “Conrad slipped on the last hill and missed qualifying for states by a second. Chris missed a top ten finish and a medal by less than a second.  The team was ready to go and ran their best. They ran their hearts out and I’m proud of their effort.”
In the JV race, Styers Oden placed 10th (19:09), Dominic Reed 21st (20:04) and Cameron Philpott 37th (21:18).
