DeVinney makes winning debut; Red Raiders explode for 17-3 win

What a coaching debut!

The Bellefonte softball team gave new coach Erica DeVinney quite the welcome as the Lady Raiders dominated Clearfield Monday 17-3.

Collectively, the Lady Raiders pounded out 20 hits in the win.

Hurler Carley Clarkson picked up the victory. She allowed only four hits on the night.

Second baseman Grace Novitsky led the charge with a two-hit 4-run and 3-RBI performance. Highlighting her night was a roundtripper.

Sadie Ripka set her teammates up posting a 4-hit night.

Jaylee Lose had a hot night at the plate as well posting three hits and three RBIs.

Teammate Regan Manning had three hits and two RBIs.

Bellefonte opened the contest posting four runs in the top of the first.

In the bottom of the inning, the Bellefonte defense kept the Bison at bay.

Offensively in the second, the Lady Raiders were back at posting three more. They also added three in third, going up 10-0 after three.

Both teams posted a run in the fourth.

Being on the verge of being 10-runned, Clearfield battled to keep the game alive plating one.

In the end, the Red Raiders would ice things, winning 17-3.

In JV action, Bellefonte also won big posting a 15-4 victory.
