Bumgardner launches HR; Rams win in nail biter

Penns Valley softball hurler Taylor Bumgardner had a strong outing Monday. The Rams pitcher was in charge striking out 11 and only allowing five hits and four earned runs in a 5-4 hard fought victory over Mifflinburg.

In the circle wasn’t the only place Bumgardner was effective. Offensively, she went 2-for-4, two runs and two RBIs. She highlighted her night with a home run.

Elle Dinges led all Rams hitters with three hits.

Haddley Stover rounded out the multiple hitters with two and two RBIs.

The game was a scoreless pitching duel until the bottom of the fifth when Penns Valley plated three.

However Mifflinburg battled back in the sixth, scoring four, taking a 4-3 advantage.

But the Rams would prevail as they ended the scoring with two in the sixth.
