Bald Eagles Victorious Over Mount Union

The Bald Eagle Area baseball team were victorious against Mount Union 5-0 on Wednesday.

Offensively, the Eagles got on the board in the first inning after Gavin Burns singled, scoring one run.

Four more Bald Eagle runs crossed the plate in the fourth inning to extend the lead to 5-0. Kaden Burns singled, scoring one run, and Wyatt Spackman homered to left field, scoring three runs.

Westin McClain earned the win for the Eagles. The starting pitcher gave up five hits and zero runs over six and two-thirds innings, striking out seven and walking one. Cody McClain opened the game for Mount Union. The starting pitcher surrendered five hits and five runs over five innings, striking out one. Tayton Yoder appeared in relief for Bald Eagle.

Spackman, the number seven hitter for Bald Eagle Area Varsity Eagles, led the way with three runs batted in. They went 1-for-2 on the day. Kahale Burns, Yoder, Carson Nagle, Burns, Burns, and Spackman each collected one hit for the Eagles. Bald Eagle Area turned two double plays in the game.

Cainen Atherton, Landon Chrisemer, Jamon Ranck, Levi Hunsinger, and Blaine Hunsinger each collected one hit for Mount Union. Mount Union turned one double play in the game.

Bald Eagle will travel to Bishop Carroll for their next game on Friday.
