ALTOONA – No doubt about it!

The Bald Eagle Area football team made sure there was no question on who the best team was in Saturday night’s District 6 championship game against Richland in a battle against the first and second seed.

From the beginning kick off til the final buzzer the Bald Eagles topped off Richland going away 49-0.

The Eagles made quite the statement as they have a showdown next week against Southern Columbia.

Eagles phenom quarterback Carson Nagle added to his legacy as he threw for 275 yards while his leading receiver Cam Watkins who finished with 130 yards.

Again, like it had for most of the season, the Bald Eagle defense was spot on as they kept Richland frustrated allowing less than 150 yards total yards.

In the first quarter, the Eagles wasted little time getting the scoreboard to move as Cameron Dubbs scored on 6-yard run with the Kaden Burns kick) at 8:51, the Eagles led 7-0.

Later in the quarter,  the Eagles gave it to Dubbs once again as he muscled his way in from 7 yards at 4:44.

Things continued to roll from there as Dubbs proved to be the finisher as he ran it in on a 1-yard run  at 11:53.

Dubbs picked up TD number four minutes later as he scored on yet another 7-yard TD run, making it a 28-0 advantage with still 9:46 showing until the intermission.

Bald Eagle went to the air on its fifth touchdown of the half going to Cam Watkins 3-yard TD pass from Carson Nagle with just 18 ticks left on the clock.

It was a total domination in the first half, as they sent Richland into the half, frustrated and wondering what happened.

In the Third Quarter, the game had gone into the ‘Mercy Rule’ status but the Eagles continued to come out swinging.

Gavin Burns hooked up with Nagle on a 71- TD pass at 8:35.

The Eagles cashed one last score when Nick Wible scored on a 1-yard run with 2:13.

With the PIAAs just one week away, the Eagles seem to be still peaking at the right time.
