WINGATE – It was a another typical Mountain League thriller when Penns Valley traveled to Bald Eagle for a Prime Time Friday night battle.
This one was not for the faint of heart as the Eagles were able to survive a defensive contest 33-32.
Bald Eagle got a very team effective scoring sheet.
Leading things offensively were Alex Gavlock and Cam Watkins with eight.
Penns Valley was led by Zach Braucht as he finished with a game-high 12 points. He was the only player that finished in double digit.
Kyle Niewinski followed up with an eight point effort.
Penns Valley started off strong posting a 7-0 first period advantage after one.
However, similar to the girls game against Penns Valley the day before, the Eagles came zooming back in the second outscoring the Rams 12-10.
However, Penns Valley went into the intermission leading 17-12.
Coming out of the intermission, Bald Eagle continued to chip away at the Rams lead, it wouldn’t be by much, outscoring them 9-8.
In the final stanza, the Eagles started to heat up offensively as its defense made key stops of the Rams defense and made their way to the 33-32 victory.
