WINGATE – The Bald Eagle Area girls soccer team played head-to-head with a very strong Hollidaysburg  team Monday but fell 2-1.

Offensively, the Eagles held a 4-1 advantage in corner opportunities.

The Tigers led in shots on goal by a 15-3 advantage.

“We jumped out to a quick lead when Heidi found Sybil and we played great defense in the first half to hold Hollidaysburg at bay, but in the second half we gave up a pk and it seemed to swing the momentum a bit in their favor,” said Bald Eagle coach Jared Moore. “The defense was really tough, limiting their chances and Makayla was great in goal for us, keeping us in the game. Hollidaysburg is a good team and unfortunately, we gave one up late.”

BEA goalie Makayla Spicer finished with 13 saves.

The Eagles notched the first goal of the game on a Sybil Thompson goal off an Heidi Eveleth assist at 2:25.

However, the second half belonged to the Tigers as Chloe Stoehr scored on a PK at 42:25 and B. Vent goal at 75:10.

With the loss, Bald Eagle falls to 3-2 overall, 2-2 in the LHAC.

Next Game is Wednesday vs Bishop Guilfoyle.
