BEA falls to Forrest Hills in D6 playoff action

WINGATE – For two quarters the Bald Eagle Area football team went head-to-head with Forrest Hills in the second round of District 6 action.

However, Forrest Hills gained momentum in the third, outscoring the Eagles 28-6 in the quarter to lift themselves over Bald Eagle Area 49-20 at Alumni Stadium.

Despite the defeat, the Eagles finished the season with an impressive 9-3 overall record and a 5-1 record against Mountain League competition.

With game tied at seven, Forrest Hills  upped the score to 14-7 on a 21-yard touchdown by Damon Crawley.

The two teams would head into the with Forrest Hills ahead by a touchdown.

After the intermission Crawley added to the visitor’s lead as he pushed it through from 5-yards out, upping the lead to 21-7.

Crawley was the goto man on the day as he again found the end zone blazing his way to a 25-yard score, making a three touchdown lead for Forrest Hills.

But the Eagles refused to give up as they picked up their first score in the second half when Edward Greene plowed his way through the line for a 2-yard touchdown run. The point after was unsuccessful.

Crawley again got his team on the board, this time he scored from four yards out, lifting the team to a 35-13 advantage.

Forrest Hills then scored on a pick-6 by Easton Toth, upping it 42-13 going into the final stanza.

In the final stanza, Crawley then went to the air and found Jeremy Burda on a 35-yard TD reception.

Playing for pride, Bald Eagle scored late when Gavin Eckley scored on a 16-yard scamper.

However, that would be all the Eagles could get as their season ended but not without a successful run during the season.
