Bellefonte bats dominate Huntingdon

Throwing a one-hitter, Carley Clarkson didn’t allow a runner to cross the plate,helping lead her team to a 16-0 shut out for the Raiders of Bellefonte

The Lady Raiders defeated Huntingdon 16-0 on Wednesday.

Leading the offense was Sienna Barnhart with a 3-hit evening.

In the first inning, Bellefonte Varsity Lady Raiders got their offense started when Sienna Barnhart singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

Jaylee Lose and Clarkson followed up with two hits each. Lose finished with 4RBIs.

Clarkson would help her own cause with a home run.

Bellefonte opened the game playing three in the first.

But the big inning would come in the second when the Lady Raiders tallied eight runs in the second inning.  Bellefonte batters contributing to the big inning included Madison Melius, Barnhart, Josselyn Nau, Jaylee Lose, Haylie Rimmey, and  Clarkson, who each had RBIs in the inning.

Clarkson earned the victory in the pitcher’s circle for Bellefonte Varsity Lady Raiders. Clarkson surrendered zero runs on one hit over four innings, striking out seven and walking one.

Bellefonte Varsity Lady Raiders tallied 18 hits.  Barnhart, Lose, Maria Cotter, Melius, and Clarkson all collected multiple hits for Bellefonte Varsity Lady Raiders.
