Bellefonte boys soccer team outlasts Westmont Hilltop

Saturday afternoon the Bellefonte boys soccer team found itself in a dogfight versus Westmont Hilltop.
The two finished in a 4-3 contest the was won the the Red Raiders.
However, Bellefonte outshot Westmont 20-5.
“We came out fast and for the most part dominated the game. We have been working on some stuff offensively and the boys did a great job with possession of the ball tonight and getting good shots on goal,” said Bellefonte coach Scott Martz. “We had quite a few 1-on-1 chance and didn’t just finish them tonight. Give credit to westmont goal keeper he played out of his mind.” Bellefonte is now 7-2-1.
Bellefonte took only 27 seconds in to see Andy Gerasenko score off an assist by Brady Wertz.
Westmont tied things at 25:23 on a Julian Sheridan goal.
Bellefonte jumped back into the lead at27:17. Geresanko again got the nod, scoring thanks to an assist by Collin Sharp.
The Red Raider offense kicked off the second half when at 46:46 Andy Wertz scored on an assist Sharp.
Westmont cut it to within one at 57:40 thanks to a Sebastian Jones goal.
Westmont tied it seconds later at 58:00 Julian Sheridan found nothing but net to tie things at three.
Bellefonte got the last laugh at 69:35 when Brady wertz scored an unassisted goal securing the win.
Next game for Bellefonte is Monday vs Hollidaysburg at home.
