Bellefonte tops Tyrone to end season on winning note

Bellefonte Red Raiders defeated Tyrone 5-4 on Tuesday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at four with the Red Raiders batting in the top of the seventh when Derek Fravel hit a solo homer.

A four-run lead in the first inning was just enough for Bellefonte to hold off the Eagles for the victory. Tyrone scored three runs in the failed comeback on a single by Zach LeGars and a double by Aiden Coleman.

ThecRed Raiders fired up the offense in the first inning. Fravel doubled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the second inning, the Eagles tied things up at four when Fravel’s wild pitch allowed one run to score for Tyrone.

Fravel got the win for the Red Raiders. The righthander surrendered four runs on eight hits over six innings, striking out nine. Alexander Ebeling threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Ebeling recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Bellefonte.

Courtlynd Rhoades took the loss for the Eagles. The hurler went seven innings, allowing five runs on eight hits, striking out four and walking one.

The Red Raiders hit one home run on the day. Fravel had a long ball in the seventh inning.

Bellefonte Red Raiders totaled eight hits in the game. Fravel and Peyton Vancas all collected multiple hits for the Red Raiders. Fravel went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Bellefonte in hits.

Tyrone collected eight hits on the day. Coleman and Ross Gaupe each racked up multiple hits for Tyrone. Coleman led Tyrone with three hits in four at bats.
