Bellefonte XC has strong outing versus PV

Varsity Girls Race Recap:

Bellefonte 20, Penns Valley 45

The Bellefonte girls cross country team moved to 4-0 for the season with another impressive win over Penns Valley.

Ayva Fetterolf from Penns Valley won the girls race with a time of 22:37 (Course record) on the new design course at Governor’s Park. 2nd place through 8th place was all Bellefonte. Emma Liadis led the way for Bellefonte and set the pace early, leading a good majority of the race. Liadis finished in second with a time of 22:57. Emma Raish came in 3rd overall (23:16) with teammate Natalie Jolley finishing 4th (23:38). Next came Victoria Schellengerg 5th, Ashleigh Aukerman 6th, Anna Tyson 7th and Emma Burger 8th. The girls started off strong and kept it up to give themselves another win.

Varsity Boys Race Recap:

Bellefonte 19, Penns Valley 38

The boys team also moved to 4-0 for the season with Alex Crist winning on his home course finishing with a time of 17:43. With that win, it has given him the course record at Governor’s park. Alex Mansfield had a strong day taking 2nd (19:11), while Caleb Vinnedge finished 4th (19:41). Followed by Keith Eicholtz in 5th, Elijah Davis 7th, and Maverick Muchmore 9th all receiving top 10 finishes.

“This boys team is strong and keeps putting good races together,” said Bellefonte coach Chad Wiler. “They all keep getting better and I’m very proud of the boys as they continue into the season!

On the junior high side for Bellefonte, Jonathan Gasper and Ella Raish both won in their races. Both set the junior high 2 mile course record, Gasper 12:18 and Raish 15:09. Gunther Kull came in forth in the boys race and Ronni Spotts got 4th in the girls race.
