Bellefonte XC sweeps Tyrone

The Red Raiders cross country meet at Tyrone proved to be a strong one as the Girls Bellefonte team topped Tyrone 15-50.

On the Boys side, Bellefonte won 22- 33.

“Great way to start out the duel meet season. Not an easy course in any way,” said Bellefonte coach Chad Wiler. “We approached this race differently, but it worked out. The team is doing great!”

The Varsity Boys top finisher was Alex Crist who won the race and completed it at a time of 17:48.

Alex Mansfield got second for Bellefonte placing a respectable 3rd place with a time of 18:51. Caleb Vinnedge placed 5th, Keith Eicholtz 6th and Elijah Davis 7th overall.

Bellefonte Varsity Girls swept Tyrone with the top 5 runners finishing in the top five. Emma Liadis brought home a varsity victory with her first place finish at Tyrone. Her time was 23:27. Emma Raish came in second and Victoria Schellenberg a strong 3rd. Rounding out the top 5 were Ashleigh Aukerman 4th and Natalie Jolley 5th.

In Junior High action, Jonathan Gasper won the boys race with a time of 12:20 and Ella Raish won the Girls race 14:52.
