Celebration of Love; Beaston remembered
By Joshua Yoder
MCVEYTOWN – Today was a very special occasion as the people of Mifflin County came to honor and enjoy the 18th birthday of one Danon Beaston.
Beaston who tragically past away nearly four years ago is someone who many to this very day is one of the most beloved young athletes who played in Mifflin County baseball.
His father Jason and mother Lori Bonson wanted to continue that legacy and welcomed the people of Mifflin County to his 18th birthday party.
As in previous years, the family is overwhelmed and forever grateful with all of the continued support of family and friends with celebrating the life of Danon. And according to the family, this day is filled with all sorts of emotions.
“It feels like its been a while, but also it feels like it was yesterday,” Lori said of her son. “He is fun, charming, genuine, caring, athletic and all around good friend. He is loved.”
Many among the community came and enjoyed the special day with cupcakes, cookies as well as a photo booth, corn hole and a special home video slide show.
But then a very special moment came just before night fall as everyone who attended the event all released a balloon to the heavens expressing their love to young Danon.
There was also a heartfelt message from Danon’s sister Erika at the event where she state that she is very proud of her brother now and forever.
“I’m very happy and grateful to celebrate Danon’s 18th birthday. He would have loved to see all of his family and friends gathering together to support him,” Erika said. “He was the best little brother and I am very grateful to have spent 14 years with him. Love You 99!”
From everyone at Hometown Sports, I would like to say that it was a pleasure and an honor to celebrate the life of Danon Beaston and I would also like to give my thoughts and prayers to everyone who was touched by the loving personality of Danon. But more importantly, God Bless you young Danon!
