Cubbison sets new school record; Sechler takes three events for MC track and field team

It was another tough night for the Huskies as the girls dropped the contest 116-33.  On the boys side, the absence of Dillon Wert and Caden Kauffman was felt, as the boys dropped a close one 90-60.  “We were trying to rest a few kids who were hurting due to the grueling schedule we’ve had thus far.  It’s a long season, and I’m willing to sacrifice some rest time now, so that we’re at our peak come in May,” said MIfflin County coach Scot Sechler. “Even without a few key athletes, we had some guys and gals step up to the plate to take over.”Dominic Reed had a tremendous day winning both hurdle races.  Chris Royer put on a show running three of the gutsiest races I’ve seen in awhile.  Price and Renninger had good days in the shot and disc.  Jayden King won the high jump, and Ty Small pr’d in the pole vault winning at 10’.  Josiah Sechler had another great meet winning the 100, long jump, and javelin.  On the girls side, Tai Ematat had the lone win besting the field in pole vault at 7’.  Kylee Cubbison set another school record in the 1600 taking second place in 5:06.
