East Juniata baseball ends game walk-off fashion

It came down to the wire on Thursday, with the East Juniata Tigers taking a victory on a dramatic walk-off home run in the late innings that sealed their victory over Greenwood. The game was tied at 15 with the Tigers batting in the bottom of the ninth when Aaron Kanagy homered on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.

Greenwood scored eight runs in the first inning, but East Juniata still managed to pull out the victory. The big inning for Greenwood came thanks to singles by Tyler Sherman, Gavin Jones, and Kyle Corkle, walks by Bryce Danko and Gavin Fegley, and a double by Gage Wirth.

The Tigers captured the lead in the first inning when Kobe Bonnell singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

East Juniata evened things up at 15 in the bottom of the seventh inning. The Tigers scored two runs when Bonnell singled.

Kolten Martin pitched East Juniata to victory. The ace surrendered zero runs on one hit over three innings, striking out three and walking one. Owen Dressler threw six innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Jezewski was on the hill for Greenwood. The hurler lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing 13 hits and 17 runs while striking out four. Myers threw six innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Evan Clouser started the game for East Juniata.

The Tigers tallied one home run on the day. Kanagy went deep in the ninth inning.East Juniata racked up 15 hits in the game. Kanagy, Dressler, Owen Yorks, Clouser, and Bonnell all managed multiple hits for the Tigers. Dressler and Kanagy all had three hits to lead East Juniata Varsity Tigers.

Greenwood had 14 hits in the game. Jezewski, Sherman, Wirth, Myers, and Jones all collected multiple hits for Greenwood.
