East Juniata FH ends season on winning note; tops SH

Going out on a winning note.

The East Juniata field hockey team ended its season in grand fashion Thursday as it defeated Southern Huntingdon 5-0.

After a scoreless first half,

EJ got started on a Karah Goss  goal with an assist by Rylee Shearer at 23:29.

Goss scored her second minutes later off an assist by Kaylyn Walters at 21:21.

Kyli Dowling thanks to a Lacey Swab assist upped the lead at the 18:00 mark.

Dowling scored again minutes later thanks to a Karli Owens pass at 7:47.

Goss rounded out the scoring on an assist by Alyssa Stroup at 5:46.

“The girls ended the season with a bang!  Shanna and I are so proud of them and how they played this season.  We know the season didn’t start the way the girls wanted it to, but they picked it up at the end of the season,” said East Juniata Coach Harley Straub. “The girls gave it their all this season, and their hard work paid off.  This has been a great season, and I am proud to say all four of the seniors either scored or assisted tonight.  The girls all helped with this win and had fun while playing this last game.  I am proud of how they played and the atmosphere in the win!”

East Juniata led in the shots on goal department leading by a 10-0 margin and also in corners 5-0.

East Juniata finished its season with an overall record of 4-13-1 and a TVL League record of 0-8.
