BELLEVILLE – in the battle for the District 5 10-11 all-star title, Big Valley looked to force a second and deciding game against an unbeaten Philipsburg-Osceola team that needed just one win to advance. Despite a scrappy effort by the Big Valley team, the Mounties were too much for the once-beaten Big Valley team, posting a 14-4 victory.
Philipsburg opened the inning playing one run.
After walking to lead off the game, lead off hitter Nick Cordriet, he later scored with the bases loaded and a walk to Tommy Stephens.
Leading by one going into the first, starting pitcher Parker Matson sent Big Valley’s side in order.

He later scored on a Big Valley miscue, upping the lead to 4-0.
