Flashback to Tuesday: State College track tops MC

STATE COLLEGE – Coming off a very successful indoor season where the boys team won the title, the State College got its season off and running as it went up against an up-and-coming Mifflin County team Tuesday at home.

It would be a clean sweep on this day as the Little Lions’ boys won 110-40 while the girls defeated the Huskies 97-53 on a picture perfect sunny day.

State College seemed in mid season form as it swept numerous events.

The State College Girls team started off the meet placing first in the 4×800- meter relay. The group finished with a time of 9:53.36.

In the 100-meter hurdles, Raechel Spencer led the way with a time of 16.81.

The boys swept the 110-hurdles as Lokey Howell (16.01), Ryan Lindenberg (18.75), Ron Sicree (19.73) took the top spots.

In the girls 100-meter dash, State College’s Lyndsey Reed led her team in a sweep of the event with a 13.27. She was followed by Jessica Loose and Mackenzie Graham, with times of 13.34 and 13.38, respectively. 

Teammate Sam Kipe also led the sweep in the boys’ side of the race with an 11.74. He was followed by fellow Little Lions Howell and Alex Hynosky.

The girls 1600 continued the sweep as Emma Myers took the first place nod with a 5:35.28 while teammates Jordan Reed (5:39.06) and Anna Kwasnicka (5:49.07) followed close behind.

The girls also took the 4×100-meter relay with a time of 52.41.

It would be another sweep for the Little Lions in the 400 as Casie Elfrig led her teammates to a top time of 1:03.20. Rounding out the top three were Eliza Oesterling (1:05.40) and Karsyn Kane (1:06.95).

On the boys’ side of the 400, State’s Marc Allerheiligen topped things out with a 54.55.

The boys also earned the top spot in the 300-hurdles when Zachary DeCaramine finished with a 39.76. His teammates Ryan Lindenberg and Alex Hynosky finished second and third.

Yet another sweep happened in the 800-meter run when Kileigh Kane finished with a 2:19.16 while teammates Lizzie Gilpatrick and MaryAnne Knappenberger finished with times of 2:29.92 and 2:36.62, respectively.

In the 200-meter dash, State College came out on top with Jessica Lose taking the top spot with a time of 27.18 while teammates Alyssa Spencer (27.60) and Jada Coleman (28.29) rounded out the top three.

DeCarmine cane out on top on the boys 200 blazing his way to a 23.58 for the first place finish.

Rounding things out for the Little Lions were Lindenberg (24.61) and Radison Hockenbury (25.04).

In the girls 4×400, the Little Lions got a top finish of 4.26.18 for the top spot.

The boys also win with a time of 3:37.99.

In the field events, the Little Lions also shined.

Leading the way Chidere Oputa won the discus with a top throw of 93’ 08”.

The State boys swept the discus with Jerome Thompson launching a throw of 139’06” while teammate Titus Thompson posted a close second with a throw of 135’ 06”. Rounding things out was Kai Ludwig with a third place throw of 126’ 06”. 

During the high jump, State again took the top three spots as Conrad Moore paced his team with a jump of 5’ 8” while Lazareth Doss and Ian Dorefice finished with 5’ 4”.

Megan York’s brought another win in the shot put with a 26’ 4” throw. 

Titus Thompson took the first place win on the boys’ side as he throw a top throw of 47’ 3”.

In the girls long jump, the Little Lions were led by Noelia Pagano with a launch of 15’ 1 1/4”.

In the boys long jump, State was led by Lance Hamilton en route to the State Sweep. His jump was 22’ 1”.

The boys’ pole vault was also won by State as Ian Dorefice jumped to a top spot of 12’ 9”.

Lance Hamilton gave the Little Lions a win in the triple jump with a top spot of 45’ 10” en route the the State sweep.
