Heading to D6 Championship, Lady Eagles top West Branch

Off to the title tilt!
The Bald Eagle Area girls soccer team found themselves in quite the battle Wednesday, going up against West Branch in the D6 Class A Round 1 of District 6 playoffs.
Offensively, the Eagle advanced to the championship game topping West Branch 2-1.
Shots on Target was won by Bald Eagle by a. 11-6 margin.
Both teams finished with two corners each.
Bald Eagle started the scoring on an Addisyn Burns goal with the assist from Adrienne Hacker at 16:04,
The Lady Eagles upped the lead to 2-0 on a Sybil Thompson goal thanks to an assist by Cadence Stem at 37:50.
West Branch scored on a goal by Emma Bucha at 45:39.
“What a crazy game! We came out strong and Addisyn Burns hit a great shot from distance for the first goal. We worked the ball around well and held possession,” said Bald Eagle Area coach Jared Moore. “We earned a free kick just before the half and Cadence Stem put a beautiful ball in the the far post and Sybil Thompson beat the defense and put it in. Hats off to West Branch, they played us hard and put in a really nice corner kick to make it close, but the girls doubled down on the defense and saw the game out. I am so proud of how hard they worked tonight. “
BEA goalie Makayla Spicer finished with five saves while West Branch goalie Alexa Pretash saved nine.
