Hershberger blasts grand slam to lift MC over Central Mtn.

The MIfflin County softball team picked up a signature win Monday, topping Central Mountain in a non-league 5-3 win.

Dakota Hershberger blasted a grand slam home run in the sixth inning to lift her team to victory.

Offensively, the Lady Huskies Piper Specht had a 2-hit night at the plate posting an RBI to go along with Hershberger’s round tripper.

Specht also got the win, going the entire seven innings allowing three runs and six hits on the night.

The Wildcats got off the a quick start, posting a run in first.

Both scored runs in the third, making it a 2-1 contest.

Central Mountain extended its lead to 3-1 after five.

But the momentum all changed when Hershberger went yard, posting the grand slam and taking the lead for good at 5-3.
