Historic clash! MC matmen tops CD on criteria

LEWISTOWN- A true instant classic. Mifflin County hosted Central Dauphin in a match that won’t soon be forgotten.
In a match that finished as a 27-27 tie, the Huskies won by criteria points posting the most wins in the match, giving Mifflin County the win.
At 285, the Huskies started out with a win when Truitt Davis topped Gabriel Lara in a 6-1 decision.
Thunder Beard picked up the forfeit at 107. over
The Rams struck again at 114, Francis Perri over Andrew Alexander SV-1 5-3.
Back battled the Huskies at 121. Paxton Shawver held a commanding win over Pierce Lemmons, 10-4.
At 127, CD’s Luke Hitchcock outlasted Jake Knable winning by a 10-5 decision.
Back rallied the Huskies at 133. Kamden Everly was able to grind out a 7-1 win over Aidan Mariano.
The Rams took 139, Clayton Ferree pinned Brian Albert at 2:36.
At 145, the Rams William Flanagan put his team back on the scoreboard winning a 3-2 decision over Colby Seiler.
After the loss at 145, Mifflin County countered with Parker Kearns at 152. Kearns had a bit of a battle but he was able to pick up the over Gavin Reynolds by a 7-2 decision.
Like he has all year, 160-pound Deakon Schaeffer was solid and cool under pressure winning by a tech fall 16-1 at 5.06 over Mason Wydra.
Taking the win at 172 was CD’s : Ryan Garvick pinned Reese Christine by Fall at 3:49.
Avery Aurand showed he had ice water in his veins as he was able to pick up a must needed pin over Cole Ramberger at 2:49 in the 189-pound weight class.
In clutch time, Gavin Mickey needed a major decision and that’s what he got as he outlasted Anthony Neuhard 10-2, leaving things in a tie. With the look at criteria, he also gave his team the victory.
