Juniata baseball, softball sweep Newport

It was a good night for the Lady Indians of Juniata Wednesday as Juniata defeated Newport 5-3.

Pitcher Liz Gaisior had 14 K’s and only allowed two hits while Lexi Frontz went 2-3 with a double and two runs. Navi Jackson and Mackenzie Lyter each added a hit and a run for Juniata.

Juniata is now 2-5 while Newport is now 3-4.

Up next for Juniata is a game on 4/23 against Susquenita.

Baseball

The Juniata baseball team jumped into the win column once again as they topped Newport 12-2 in six innings.

Next up for the Indians is a road game at Susquenita on Friday.
