EJ track splits with Millersburg

The East Juniata Tigers took on the Millersburg Indians in Tri-Valley League track and field action over at East Juniata High School.
The boys came out victorious in their match up by the final score of 92-49 over the Indians with Jake Brackbill dominated in all three throwing events placing first in the javelin, discus and shot put.
His teammate Ashton Imes finished second in the javelin and discus including a personal best in javelin throwing one 122 feet, 3 inches.
The Tigers also swept in both the 110 and 300 hurdles with Rowan Smith, Coy Shaffer and Joseph Book all finishing one, two and three in both events.
On the girls side of the meet, East Juniata lost to Millersburg 107-32. A large part for the loss for Tigers was the lack of athletes on the roster.
But they more than made up for their lack of depth with a lot of heart and hustle. Nothing proved that more than in the 4×400 relay as East Juniata fell behind early in the race before Brianna Henry managed to make up for some lost time.
Then Henry handed the baton over to Kierstyn Fogle who turned on the jets and blazed her way to the lead and ultimately the win for the Tigers.
Fogle also placed first in both the 400 and then later the 800 meter run events.
