Juniata boys soccer fell to Halifax in close contest

The Juniata boys soccer team fought hard but came up just a goal short to Halifax, falling 3-2.

Halifax broke out with two first half goals, heading into the intermission, shutting out the Indians.

Coming out of the half, Halifax added yet another goal to up the lead to three.

But the Indians refused to go away as they were able to comeback and make a game of it.

“We are a very young team that is lacking in consistency and chemistry. We will have 20 minute segments of consistent soccer with great chemistry,” said Juniata coach Jared Byler. “If we can figure out how to have consistent chemistry for 30-35 minute segments, success will follow. We are certainly getting better each game, we just need consistency.”

At 13:34 left in the game, Juniata scored again  when Daniel Lopez, scored off of an assist by Avery Portzline.

Halifax led in Shots on Goal by a10-8 margin.
