MIFFLINTOWN – Juniata took care of business as they muscled past their cross county rivals East Juniata by the final score of 12-2 Wednesday afternoon in Tri-Valley League baseball action.

The Tigers struck first in the top of the second inning as Kelton Bonnell led off with a first pitch double before being driven home by a single from East Juniata starting pitcher Trent Price.
But then things started to fall apart for the Tigers in the bottom half of the second as Juniata scored nine runs in the frame, large part being from committing four of their five total errors in the game during this inning.
In fact, the Tigers two pitchers combined for a total of 10 walks for the game. On the flip side, Juniata starter Wyatt Stoner went all five innings and had one strikeout and three walks.
However, East Juniata did manage to its final run of the game in the top half of the fifth inning where with a two out single to left field from Bonnell who scored in Hunter Shafferman to cut the lead down to 11-2.
But then in the bottom of the fifth, the Indians put the game on ice as Grant Reinhold led off the inning with a walk before stealing both second and then third base. Although East Juniata got the next two batters out and looked to force a sixth inning, a pitch slipped past the catcher which allowed Reinhold to hustle down the third base line to score the walk off victory.
As mentioned earlier, it was Senior night for the Indians as they honored their seven seniors.
