Juniata girls shine in 11-0 win

There was an explosion of goals Monday evening as the Juniata Lady Indians’ soccer team blasted 11 goals in their contest against Halifax, winning 11-0.
“We’ve been trying to get our players to take more leadership on the field. To coach themselves when it comes to decision making. The girls did a great job with that tonight,” said Juniata coach Brian Strawser. “We also were better at seeing what Halifax gave us defensively. This always makes decision making easier. Now we just need to continue to improve on the little things and gain more confidence. ”
Sydney Sheaffer picked up the first goal from an assist from Josie Swartz only 3:51 in the contest.
Minutes later Josie Swartz got the nod herself when she picked up a pass from Ellie Shepps, making it 2-0 at the 6:29 mark.
