Late weekend Results: Huskies matmen go 1-1 over weekend

LEWISTOWN – The MIfflin County wrestlers opened to a 1-1 record Saturday as they competed against Chambersburg and Gettysburg to get their season off and running.

In their match against Chambersburg, Mifflin County won 35-25 in the MPC Quad Meet.

At 160, Deakon Schaeffer started off the MIfflin County scoring as he won by major decision over Zethan Sleighter 13-3.

172-pounder Reese Christine defeated Chambersburg’s Noah Valentine by Dec 5-3margin.

Mifflin County made it 3-0 as they took 189 with Avery Aurand over Jaccob Stoner 5-2.

At 215, Gavin Mickey kept the winning coming as he pinned Kaden Mangus at 2:59.

Coming in at 107, the Huskies’ Andrew Alexander won a 3-1 decision over Ben Hoover.

114-pounder, Paxton Shawver pinned Cody Seabolt at 2:16.

Colby Seiler took the 145-weight class with a hard fought 1-0 decision over Logan Mickey.

Rounding things out at 152, Parker Kearns pinned Tyler Frye at 1:22.

In their second meet, Gettysburg outlasted Mifflin County 41-20.

Picking up wins for Mifflin County against Gettysburg were the following;

At 189, Avery Aurand pinned Cole O`Dell at 0:33.

215-pounder Gavin Mickey won by decision over Mason Rebert, 8-2.

Rounding out the heavyweights, at 285 Truitt Davis outlasted Adrian Ramirez 5-2.

At 152, Parker Kearns won by tech fall over Caden Shearer 22-7 0:00.

Finishing 2-for-2 on the day at 160, Deakon Schaeffer won a 5-0 decision against Nolan Reinert.
