Liam Shaffer Drives 4 Runners Home In Mifflin County 14Us Victory Over Schuylkill

Liam Shaffer drove in four runs on three hits to lead Mifflin County 14Us past Schuylkill 18-1 on Saturday at 126 John Montgomery Ward Lane, Bellefonte . Shaffer doubled in the fifth inning, scoring two runs, and singled in the second inning, scoring one.

Mifflin County got on the board in the top of the first inning after Colton Aumiller tripled, Aumiller scored after tagging up, and Bo Benny scored after tagging up, each scoring one run.

MC added to their early lead in the top of the second inning when Kooper Walters singled, scoring one run, Benny lined out, scoring two runs, and Shaffer singled, scoring one run.

Mifflin County extended their early lead with two runs in the top of the third thanks to RBI singles by Jett Powell and Camden Kauffman.

Mifflin County scored seven runs on seven hits in the top of the fifth inning. Trayven Shaffer singled, scoring one run, Landon Rhodes grounded out, scoring one run, Benny singled, scoring one run, Shaffer doubled, scoring two runs, Jude Zook doubled, scoring one run, and Noah Wolfkiel singled, scoring one run.

Aumiller earned the win for Mifflin County. MC allowed zero hits and one run (zero earned) over three innings, striking out nine and walking one. Rios stepped on the mound first for Schuylkill. They surrendered five hits and seven runs (six earned) over two innings, striking out none and walking four. Rhodes tossed two innings of no-run ball for Mifflin County in relief. They gave up zero hits, striking out two and walking one.

The MC All-Stars amassed 18 hits in the game. Shaffer and Zook each collected three hits for Mifflin County . Kauffman collected two hits for MC in two at bats. Derek Wert stole two bases. Mifflin County ran wild on the base paths, piling up six stolen bases for the game.

Werez stole four bases.

Next up for Mifflin County is a game at Roxborough 21st Ward on Sunday.
