MC has strong starts in D6 track championships

District 6 Championships
Day One: May 13, 2024
We had a good start to our District competition. Many of our athletes were able to achieve their best marks of the season. Seven athletes made it to the medal stand. Carter Smith qualified for States in the 1600m Run, both taking first and meeting the State Qualifying Standard. Three of the boys track athletes that competed in preliminary events are heading into finals tomorrow. We expect to see a lot of good races and field competitions tomorrow, finishing as strong as we started.
District Medalists:
Carter Smith – 1st – 1600m Run – State Qualifier
Caden Bell – 6th- 1600m Run
Reese Cubbison –  8th – 1600m Run
Hannah King –  5th – Shot Put
Travis Renninger – 7th – Shot Put
Ethan Plank – 5th – Triple Jump
Michael McNitt – 8th – Triple Jump
Qualifiers for Finals Tomorrow:
Michael McNitt: 11 Hurdles and 300m Hurdles
Myka Simmons: 100m Dash and 200m Dash
Wyatt Kauffman: 400m Dash
