Mifflin County Boys Cross Country lost both races in double dual action against Cumberland Valley (24-31) and Carlisle (20-41) in Mid Penn action Tuesday afternoon in Reedsville. Andrew Hampton from CV was the overall winner in a quick 16:22 over the soggy 5000 meter course. However Carlisle’s strong pack was enough to topple CV in a close contest 28-31.  Leading the way for MC was senior Caden Bell 5th (17:04) with Reese Cubbison in 9th (17:32).  Cody Fultz 13th (18:04) and Wyatt Kauffman 14th (18:06) followed. Styers Oden 16th (18:26) ended the Husky scoring.

Also racing for MC was Hart Oden 20th (18:43), Aidan Scavitti 25th (19:02), Cameryn Treaster 30th (20:08), Hoyt Rodenbaugh 31st (20:10), Justin Cox 38th (23:31) and Nathan Goss 42nd (25:23).
“Although we were on the short end in the scorebook today the kids had some outstanding performances racing on a damp course. The ground crew did a fantastic job having the course marked and mowed even with all the rain we’ve been having. They’ve done a tremendous job for for us all season. Caden had another great race. He went out with the leaders and got right in the mix. Reese ran another nice race. Cody had the Jet’s going and Wyatt continued to race well. Styers is getting his groove back and Hart is pressing. The middle and back kids were on today. I believe all but one either ran a season best or personal all time best. Aidan dropped a minute. Cameryn and Hoyt missed a few races but didn’t miss a step. Justin dropped about a minute and Nathan about two off his previous time.
The Mid Penn (League) is tough. Even though we were short I can’t fault the effort. We still have a few days left in September and all of October. We are excited to see how much faster we can go”.
Mifflin County is back in action Saturday at the Carlisle Invitational.
The Huskies fall to 3-3(MP), 3-3 overall,
