Mounties Loses Lead Early In Defeat

Mounties watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in an 11-1 loss to Central on Wednesday. Central took the lead on a sacrifice fly in the first inning.

The Mounties struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Central, giving up 11 runs.

In the first inning, Central got their offense started. Jonah Snowberger’s sac fly scored one run for Central.

Central scored six runs in the fifth inning. Ty Helsel, Jake Detwiler, Griff Snowberger, Jeff Hoenstine, and Devon Boyles all drove in runs in the frame.

Snowberger led the Central to victory on the hill. The pitcher allowed three hits and one run over five innings, striking out six and walking zero.

Parker White took the loss for Mounties. The hurler surrendered five runs on three hits over three innings, striking out two.

Ben Gustkey, Nick Coudriet, and White each collected one hit to lead Mounties.

Central saw the ball well today, racking up eight hits in the game. Paxton Kling, Boyles, and Parker Greggall had multiple hits for Central. Central didn’t commit a single error in the field. Hunter Smith had the most chances in the field with six.
