One on One: Bellefonte’s Carley Clarkson

Editor’s Note – Recently Homtown Sports’ Tara Jackson sat down and interviewed Bellefonte softball player Carley Clarkson.
HS: How long have you played the current sports you are in?
CC:I have played softball for 12 years and volleyball for 4 years.
HS: What is one piece of advice you’d like to offer younger athletes?
CC: One piece of advice I would give is to not base your value on your performance in a sport and to just have fun.
HS: Who is someone you look up to?
CC: Someone I look up to is my dad because he was so strong and kind.
HS: What are your goals for the current sports you play in?
CC: My goal for this softball season is to stay positive and work hard everyday. Despite all that my team has been through, I just want to have fun for my last year!
HS: What strengths do you believe you have that make you a great athlete?
CC:Some strengths that I believe that I have that make me a good athlete are motivation and being a coachable athlete.
HS: What are your plans after high school?
CC: My post-highschool plans are to attend Penn State University and major in Business.
HS: Is there a coach or teammate who has gone above and beyond and pushed you more than anyone?
CC:Some coaches I would like to recognize because of their importance in my life are, Rich Rogers, Josh Obrien, Monica Smith, and Erica Bowersox.
