Penns Valley boys soccer team defeats Central

Penns Valley vs Central played at Penns Valley
SPRING MILLS – The Penns Valley offense had a pretty strong effort Thursday in its home game against Central.
In the end, Penn’s Valley defeated the Dragons 5-1.
Sal Castiglia got the ball rolling for Penns Valley as he picked up an assist from Lukas Winkleblech and blasted home at the 6:55 mark.
Sam Kupp added his name to the scorebook putting his team up by two at 17:41.
At 25:30, Castiglia notched his second goal of the game thanks to an assist by Carter Felker.
Jeremiah Manning made it 4-0 on an assist by Sam Kupp.
Rounding out things for the Rams was 67:25 PV Alex Castiglia’s goal at 67:25 with the assist going to Lukas Winkleblech.
Central picked its only goal at 74:49 to end the shut out attempt by the Rams. Noah Clapper hit the final goal of the game, making it 5-1.
Penn’s Valley out shot Central 31-12 and led in corners 5-1.
The Rams’ Jared Kines goalie tallied eight saves while Central’s Nathan Earnest also collected eight.
With the win, Penns Valley improved to 3-2.
Next up for PV is Mifflinburg at Penns Valley on September 16.
