Quite a run for 8/9/10 Mifflin County softball team

Editors note: Deeply sorry about not being at the contest. I enjoyed following this team and see a bright future as next year gets underway. They showed the true fighting spirit that Mifflin County softball is famous for. They made Mifflin County proud.

REEDSVILLE AND STATE COLLEGE – They battled to the end!
One one run decided the fortunes on who would move onto sectionals this weekend in State College as the Mifflin County battled State College in the 8/9/10 year old All-Star District 5 championship.
Mifflin Counties 8/9/10 All-Star season came to an end tonight with a 7-6 loss with 2 extra innings. All of these girls played an amazing game. Congratulations to both girls.
Their road to through the 2017 post season was an exciting one and one that could be the starting point for next year.
Mifflin County opened up with two consecutive wins and went down the road to play State College in two consecutive contests for the title.
The group fell just one game from reaching the sectionals. Quite a fete!!
The two teams were very close talent wise and it took extra innings before a champion was crowned.
Pitching wise Falynn Reinard was a force to be reckoned with on the mound as she put on pitching performances that won’t be soon forgotten.
The team consisted of lead off hitter Olivia Fisher, Olivia Metz, Reinard, Bailey Wyland, Jalee Bodtorf, Rylee Retherford, Alexis O’Brien, Varu Farrell, Makenna Spickler, Abby Eversole, Marlee Basom, Breanna Forshey and Malaina Maxwell.
Keep on eye on these names as you will be seeing great things from these players in the years to come.
