Rams top Indians in opener

MIFFLINTOWN- It was a strong start for the Penn’s Valley girls softball team as it picked up a strong early 12-2 road win over Juniata Tuesday.
Harley Hess picked up the win for the Rams while Abby Adair took the loss for the Indians.
Hess notched 12 strike outs in the contest while scattering five hits.
Penn’s Valley picked up runs early and often, playing one in both the first and second and three runs in the fifth, four in the sixth and then finished with three more in the seventh. The team roped 13 hits and committed two errors.
Mikenna Lyons finished with two singles, a HR, along with three runs scored, and an RBI.
Cassidy Stover followed up with two singles, double, three runs scored and a stolen base.
Abby Thom had a good afternoon finishing with a single, one run scored an an RBI.
Lydia Collison also finished with a single, one run scored and two RBIs.
Harley Hess smacked a double and tallied an RBI.
 Caroline Collison continued the Rams strong night with a run scored while Ryleigh Cain had two singles, a HR, two runs scored and two RBIs.
Rounding out the night for Penn’s Balley was Paige Kerstetter’s two singles and one run scored.
For Juniata, Alissa Goodling had two singles, one run scored and RBI while Hannah Welfley, Cassidy Hambright and Morgan Snyder all singled.
Brandi Owens finished with one run scored while Lancy Dowling tallied an RBI.
