St. Joseph boys pick up weekend victory

The Wolves raced out to a big lead in the first quarter, driving to the basket and knocking down three -point shots en route to a 33-10 lead at the end of one.  Jack Mangene led the charge early, scoring 13 of his 17 points in the first half.   Mangene also added 13 rebounds, nine assists and five steals as he filled up the stat sheets.

Saint Joseph’s took a 43-22 lead into the locker room and pushed the lead to 65-29 after three quarters.  Brendan Scanlon led all scorers with 18 points including four three-point field goals.  Zane Thornburg (12) and Cam Khoza (10) rounded out the top scorers.  The final score, 73-46.  Saint Joseph’s improved to 3-2 on the season and will face Penns Valley next Wednesday, December 19th.

The JV squad also notched their first victory of the season.  Aidan Cross led the way with 14 points.
