Sweet Perfection!! Juniata Gaisior shines on the mound

MIFFLINTOWN – Sweet perfection!!

Juniata hurler Liz Gaisior pitched a perfect game with 16 strikeouts.

It was quite an impressive home opener for the Juniata softball team Friday night as they shut out Greenwood 10-0 in a 6-inning Tri-Valley League contest.

With win, Juniata notches it’s first win of season while the Wildcats fall to 0-3.

Gaisior not only excelled on the mound but at the plate as well as she and Navi Jackson was 2-4. Jackson finished with two doubles and four RBIs.

The Indians exploded onto the scene, posting five runs in the first.

Gaisior led off with a single to start off Juniata’s first inning.

Cheyenne Kirk followed with a single of her own.

Alexea Frontz followed with a walk, loading the bases.

Regan Lowry also walked as Gaisior would score the first run of the ball game.

The bases then were cleared when Jackson posted her first double of the game. She later scored to give the home team a commanding 5-0 advantage.

While Gaisior sent the Greenwood batters down, her defense would add a run in the second, third, fourth and then two in the sixth to end the contest.
