Upper Dauphin holds off spirited effort by Juniata boys

The Juniata boys basketball team fell in a tough 55-51 overtime Tri-Valley League foe Upper Dauphin.

Leading the way for Juniata were Manny O’Donell with 15 points and

Jace White with 12.

Nate Wise led Upper Dauphin with a game-high 16 points.

Both offenses came ready to play as the first quarter proved to be a shoot out when both team tossed in 16 points each.

Jacob Condo paced the Indians with six in the period.

UD continued its offensive output posting another 16 points in the second half while holding Juniata to just four points.

Going into the intermission, Upper Dauphin held a 33-20 advantage.

The Indians started to chip away at the Upper Dauphin lead, holding them to only four points while its offense cranked out nine to put them within striking distance at 37-20.

In the fourth, the Indians made their move outscoring UD and sending the game into an extra session

However, the comeback stopped short as Upper Dauphin finished the extra period outscoring Juniata 7-3.
