13-1 for Lady Bald Eagles; tops Punxsutawney

Another game, another victory for the Lady Bald Eagles.

The Bald Eagle Area softball team improved to 13-1 on the year as it defeated Punxsutawney 9-1 Tuesday.

Winning pitcher on the night was Kayleigh Kinley with Maddie Peters coming in for the save.

Kinley  went one inning, 0 runs, 0hits and one strike out.

Shawley went three innings with 0 run,  3 hits and one strike out with a no decision.

Peters followed with three innings,   One run, three hits, six strike outs and a walk, with the save.

Top hitters on the night for the Eagles were, Makena Baney (2 hits), Mara Hockenberry (2 hits,double), Marina Shawley (2 hits) and Autumn Tobias (2 hits, double).

“We played solid defense on senior day with Kayleigh Kinley getting the nod to start her senior game. Our only senior. She was flawless pitching the first inning before going to her second base position,” said BEA Head Coach Don Lucas. “Not before we scored three runs in the bottom of the first. Autumn Tobias came up big getting two hits as did Hockenberry and Shawley. We play Penns Valley tomorrow at home with a 4:30start.”
