STATE COLLEGE – Starting off with a BANG!

The State College girls softball team got its 2024 campaign off with a 10-0 shut out over rival Altoona Monday.

Offensively, Addison Harpster went 3-for-4 in the victory. Harpster had two singles and a round tripper to highlight her day.

Not only did she perform well in the batters box but she also looked strong on the mound. She tossed a 1-hit shut out. She struck out eight in the game-shortened contest.

Teammate Elizabeth Sikorsky joined Harpster with a home run. Helping her team jump out to an early lead.

State College pounded out 12 hits on the afternoon.

The Little Lions will be back in action Wednesday against MIfflin County.
