Archives:Bellefonte Volleyball: New Coach, More Wins!

District 6 Volleyball traditionally has been one of the strongest divisions in girls’ volleyball and this year was no exception.

From the strong play of traditional powers like Bald Eagle Area, Huntingdon, Philipsburg-Osceola and State College, through the tough and gritty play from teams like Bellefonte and Penns Valley, the talent level has been extremely strong as has the excitement of the local contests.

This year at Bellefonte, there came a new coach, a new motto, and a new attitude as Carla Weaver took over the helm and led the team to three more wins than last season. She seems to have her team heading in the right direction.

Not only did the team pick up three more wins but they also were competitive in most of their matches considering they have such a young squad.

The future looks bright for the Red Raiders as they head into next year, making them a team to watch in the 2014-15 season.
