Bald Eagle Area  Beats Mount Union On Powerful Performance From Tayten Yoder

Tayten Yoder hit two home runs and drove in four as Bald Eagle Area defeated Mount Union 11-3 on Wednesday. Yoder homered in the third and first innings.

The Eagles were the first to get on the board in the first when Yoder hit a solo home run to left field.

Mount Union jumped back into the lead in the top of the second inning after Levi Hunsinger singled, and Cody McClain hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.

Westin McClain doubled, which helped Bald Eagle  tie the game at two in the bottom of the second.

The Eagles took the lead, 5-2, in the bottom of the third thanks to home runs by Yoder, and Kaden Burns.

Bald Eagle Area scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth on a home run to left field by Carson Nagle.

McClain earned the win for the Eagles. They gave up 10 hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out five and walking one. Davin Yocum took the loss for the Trojans. They went three innings, giving up six runs on nine hits, striking out two and walking none.

Bald Eagle tallied 13 hits in the game. Yoder and Burns each collected three hits for the Eagles. Connor Perry collected two hits for the Eagles in three at bats. Bald Eagle  turned two double plays in the game. They were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Kahale Burns made the most plays with six.

Mount Union accumulated 10 hits in the game. Julian Weirich, Landon Chrisemer, Jamon Ranck, and Hunsinger each collected two hits for the Trojans. Hunsinger and McClain each drove in one run for Mount Union.
