Bald Eagle girls lose OT contest to Central
Taking it to the limit!
The Bald Eagle Area girls soccer team found themselves in a Monday evening battle with Central.
The game would be so close, it wouldn’t be decided in regulation as the teams went to an overtime before a winner would be crowned.
However, the night would eventually belong to the Dragons as they topped the Eagles 3-2.
“Going into the half down 1-0 was tough, but I give the girls a lot of credit because they came out in the second half and scored 2 nice goals,” said Bald Eagle coach Jared Moore. “We conceded one late which really hurt us and then Central got off a shot through traffic in the first overtime period that went in. It was a bit of a heartbreaker for as hard as the girls were working. But that is soccer, sometimes you don’t get the bounce unfortunately.”
Bald Eagle led in shots by an 8-7 margin while Central led in corners 3-2.
BEA goalie Makayla Spicer finished with four saves. Central goalkeeper Lacey Ripka finished with six.
Central opened the lead with the lone goal of the first half.
Adrienne Hacker tied the contest as she blasted an unassisted goal at 55:20,
Bald Eagles’ Makenzie Bickle gave her team a 2-1 advantage on an unassisted goal of her own at 65:00.
Central would tally the final two goals en route to the win.
In JV action Bald Eagle won 1-0.
