Bald Eagle hires three new head coaches for the upcoming school year

Bald Eagle hired three new head coaches as they were approved at last night’s Board meeting. They are:

Boys Basketball – Kris Glunt. Kris has been a varsity boy’s head coach for 7 years – 4 at Bellefonte and 3 at Mo Valley. He lives in the district with his wife Michelle (Boone) and 3 young sons. He is a graduate of Bellefonte. He is currently employed by PSU as a  DDAP Systems Coordinator. 

Girls Basketball – Shawn Thompson. Shawn has a varied varsity coaching career. He has been a head coach for track & field at Mount Pleasant H.S. He is currently an assistant coach with our football and track programs. He also was an assistant at Mount Pleasant in basketball and football. He has 7 years experience as a PIAA basketball official. Shawn and his family, wife Tracy & kids Chase and Sybil,  moved to B.E.A. in October of 2017. Shawn is the Executive Director of the Bellefonte branch of the Centre County YMCA. 

Cheerleading – Harley Yoder. Harley is originally from Oregon and currently resides in Mill Hall. She is married, husband is named Christian and has 2 young boys, Jack is 1.5 and Henry is 2.5. Harley was a cheerleader in high school at 6A size high school in Oregon. She was injured during her senior year and wanted to stay involved in cheer so she became a coach. She helped out one year at her alma mater and at 19 years of age was hired to be head coach at a 2A Catholic school. The program was in its first year of competition cheer and went on to win a state championship. She works from home as a business manager for a mortgage company and also does some home sales networking.
