Bald Eagle continues to roll, takes care of Central Cambria

The Bald Eagle Area Eagles bested Central Cambria 5-2 on Thursday.

Bald Eagle Area got on the board in the first inning after Ava Stere homered to left field, scoring two runs.

A ground out by Kailey Eckert extended the Eagles lead to 3-0 in the bottom of the second inning.

Bald Eagle Area added one run in the third after Sydney Thompson singled.

Sierra Albright earned the win for the Eagles. The starting pitcher surrendered five hits and two runs (one earned) over seven innings, striking out nine and walking two. Aubrey Rudeek took the loss for Central Cambria. They went one and one-third innings, giving up zero runs on one hit, striking out none and walking one. Keira Link began the game for Central Cambria. They surrendered seven hits and five runs (four earned) over four and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking four.

Stere drove the middle of the lineup, leading the Lady Eagles with two runs batted in. The infielder went 1-for-3 on the day.

Thompson went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Bald Eagle Area in hits. Alyssa King paced the Eagles with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, accumulating five walks for the game.

Camryn Matlin, Sophia Blasko, Kathryn George, Rowyn Ruddek, and Katie Scott each collected one hit for Central Cambria. George and Scott each drove in one run for Central Cambria. Central Cambria were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Liv Janosik had the most chances in the field with seven.

Bald Eagle will travel to Westmont Hilltop for their next game on Friday.
